Because of the strong wind and turbulent waves, water sports are not possible everywhere on the island.  The best areas for water sports are the beautiful bays. Popular locations are Spanish Water and Piscadera Bay and some of the smaller bays. There are great opportunities for sailing, kayaking, wind surfing and jet skiing. 

If you prefer solid ground under your feet, there are plenty of other possibilities to play sports on Curaçao. E.g. you could go land sailing, mountain biking, play tennis and, of course, visit one of the gyms. Baseball is a very popular sport on Curaçao. A baseball match is definitely worth visiting. 

For lovers of golf, Aruba offers the opportunity to hit the ball. The island has 2 excellent and extensive golf courses and is within easy reach from Curaçao.

Food, beverages and going out

Curaçao is a paradise for lovers of fine dining and going out. There are numerous restaurants, bars and night clubs on the island. Most of them are situated in and around Willemstad. One of the most popular areas is the harbor front of Willemstad, where one can find many affordable and good quality restaurants.  You can watch a movie at the cinema The Movies.

Nightlife on Curaçao goes on until the late hours of the night. There is lots of activity every night. Many bars have special theme nights.  In café de Tropen it’s quiz night every Monday night. At Mambo Beach there is dancing. Dining and partying is possible at restaurant/club Tutu Tango and you can go to Café de Nachtwacht for drinks.

Sightseeing

A very special experience is swimming and cuddling with dolphins at the Dolphin Academy. Another worthwhile visit is the ostrich farm, where you watch the animals up close, feed them en even ride them. You can visit the caverns at Hato or sail to the uninhabited island of Klein Curaçao. Another great experience is visiting Christoffelpark, where you can climb Christoffelmountain. This is the highest mountain of Curaçao and it offers a spectacular view at a height of 1150 feet. You can also make a trip by jeep, mountain bike or by horse.

Transportation

There are plenty of car rentals on Curaçao. You can take a bus and there are also small city buses, seating about 9 persons, which you can stop by waving your hand. These city buses can stop at any desired location.
